Default what about the lucky title?

No changes to this title? Seriously?

This is by far the dumbest titles ever. A.net, please change this to be not retarded. The best way to max this title is to leave the computer running overnight. Just... why?

This title should be maxable by actually playing. I don't think using nearly 100,000 lockpicks is realistic AT ALL.

10,000 lockpicks*

Last time I checked, that's about as realistic as getting grandmaster treasure hunter. Sure, you might not retain them all, but you'll also be opening some non-max chests too.

Let's define the annoyance factor A by saying that maxing drunkard is a process of 1 A. Then, maxing Kurzick allegiance or Treasure Hunter is about 2 A (i.e., twice as annoying as maxing Drunkard). On this scale, maxing Wisdom or Lucky is about 3 A, and maxing Unlucky used to be at 6 A. With the change to Unlucky points from broken lockpicks maxing Unlucky was dropped to the same level as Wisdom or Lucky which is a sane change. The idea was not to make every title obtainable overnight but to give more options to gain points and thus reduce mindless grind.

Also remember that many titles have a lot of synergy and thus you can't simply add up the annoyance factors to figure out how tedious it is to max a certain set of titles. I have maxed Treasure and Wisdom, and while not actively pursuing Lucky I'm just 200 lockpicks away from maxing it, should I feel like doing it at some point (or it may get maxed through normal play anyway).

No, it's much closer to 100,000. It's 10,000 lockpicks retained. Realistically, it's somewhere in between, depending on which chests you open.

Also, that's not the point. The point is, the best way to max the title is to literally, leave your computer on overnight and do nothing. That's just plain stupid, not to mention a waste of electricity.

just a side note you WASTE more electricity turning on and off your pc than you do leaving it running plus the wear and tear you add to you hdd from starting up and shutting it down

Not true, an urban myth. You waste more electricity leaving appliances running and doing nothing than turning off things you aren't using.

If you are using your pc and you need to leave it for a short while then by all means leave it running if you intend to come back to it later but there's little wear and tear on moving parts that aren't moving.

When you have your PC on, your HDD is spinning and wearing, when it's off, it's not spinning and so no wear takes place. The spin-up during boot does not cause significant wear unless you are restarting your PC constantly so if you are going to be away from your machine for more than a few hours, you're better off shutting down and leaving everything turned off.

It most certainly is not. You're forgetting that as you inevitably progress on the Treasure Hunter and Lucky tracks your retain rate goes way up. One lockpick provides 250 * R / (1 - R) points where R is the retain rate. The best deal that I'm currently getting is R = 0.96 which means that I can get 6000 Lucky points out of every lockpick.

And speaking about the best method to gain Lucky points, it's quite evident that I'm getting more bang for my buck by running chests than afking the rings that are not even available most of the time.

With Lucky being my favorite title EVER - I approve of suggestions that would make it easier to max.
The problem is that I kinda don't see a suggestion here.

titles are not meant to be easy to max. However, titles are meant to be run concurrently so that the grind is lessened. Doing dungeons to max Deldrimor and running chests for lucky/unlucky is one way.

Cartographer/Vanquishing is another combination. Yes there is alot of repetition involved but several titles can be worked at a time. They're inteneded for the people who like spending long hours working to acquire. Same with elite armours or anything else that takes time and potentially money.

Having more ways to do some titles might have an effect on how other titles are acquired.

Legendary Survivor says otherwise.
I do get what you are saying - I just don't get what the OP is suggesting.
He's just saying that a change is needed - but doesn't provide info on what that change should be.
In which case - it's not really a suggestion, but more of a discussion.

Hmm the last I checked we had a huge update on the 13th which made treasure and wisdom go account wide. This only helped you on the lucky title due to the fact that every rank in treasure gives you +3% retention rate. The Lucky title isnt hard and is very obtainable if you retained every pick from start to finish it would be 10,000 picks but they do break so its a give or take a few but use some logic go for two birds with one stone Treasure Hunter title only helps your lucky, and hell with the new tweak in the Unlucky title you could be well on your way to maxing that one out as you finish as well.

Buy some picks open some high-end chest increase your treasure hunter, which will inturn increase your lucky and unlucky you'll see by the time you sell the drops you get from the chest whether it be to the merchant for merchant trash you get a few good drops you not waste as much money as you think your going to.

I takes some effort on your part to get to the max rank and Anet even is nice enough to give you a boost when they give use Double lucky and Unlucky weekends.

As for what OP its not really a suggestion or a discussion, its a QQ because the OP can't get want he wants how he wants it.

For normal mode running, you'll be running your chests at about an average of 60-65% retain rate over the course of getting those 10,000 retained on 600g chests. Mix that in with 450g chests and you get 65-70% retain rate. That means you're opening 15,000 chests to get the title. Last time I checked, that's closer to 10,000. Get your facts straight before you post lies (or ignorant statements) that throw people off.

I said, "DEPENDING ON WHICH CHESTS YOU OPEN." I usually play exclusively HM and the base is 10%.

Your number is still BS. Even if you had no title points at all if you did HM chests you wouldn't need more then 20-30k chests or so. Your retention rate goes up from lucky and treasure hunter so you couldn't possibly need more lockpicks then that unless you got extraordinarily unlucky(you would be maxing unlucky at about the same time btw, lol).
